Import Stats Issue

I know how to export and edit my stats files, but when I import them, the changes aren't reflected.

What I'm trying to do is create a 2005 Quick Start League. I'm using Gambo's DB and trying to go through and manually remove all the artificial stats that players have added.

For example, Elijah Dukes didn't play in 2003 and 2004 - yet he has MLb stats for these years. I go into the batting_stats files, remove those lines, save the file, close the file, then import. However, even after the files are successfully imported, the stats remain.

I've tried saving, closing, and reopening the game, to no avail. Any advice?

I seem to be able to edit the stats of players on my own teams, but not those of players on other teams.

I've had this exact problem just tonight. Followed the instructions in the online manual to a T, but no luck. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Ok, I figured it out!!! Thanks for all the help everyone!

If you want to enter in new stats other than those currently in the game, you need to:

1) In the game: Game Setup -> League Setup -> Import/Export -> Export Stats

2) Edit whatever files you'd like by going to: Documents -> [OOTP] -> Saved Games -> [Select whichever saved game you'd like] -> Import/Export -> [edit either batting/pitching/fielding]

Save and close files.

MAKE SURE TO CREATE BACKUPS AS YOU GO IF YOU'RE EDITING LARGE AMOUNTS OF ANY FILE.

3) In the game: Game Setup -> League Setup -> Functions -> Erase Major League Career Stats of All Players.

4) In the game: Game Setup -> League Setup -> Import/Export -> Import Stats

That should do the trick.

Glad you got this working!

I'll try to find somewhere to add this to the online manual documentation!

Thanks,

Steve
