Pitchers not Showing Up On AAA Pitching Screen

So I've got some pitchers in AAA who show up on the minors report, but won't show up on the pitching screen and they also aren't being used when asking the AI to set up the staff. One of these pitchers is also clearly the best on the team so why he's not being used I don't understand. The filters have been cleared and even setting it to show all players including batters doesn't help. Any idea what's wrong?

Hrm, odd.

Could you FTP me a copy of your league files using the instructions here?

Thanks!

Steve

In looking at it closer to try to detail it I think I found the problem. Please do still read this as something should probably be done to prevent this from happening in OOTP11.

When I started looking at other organizations to see if they also had the problem I noticed that I was one of the few who had the max players at AAA. In fact, I was one over. That wasn't a surprise since I like to give as many FAs playing time as possible, but then it occured to me that in counting the players that were missing it seemed that the # of players on the minors report were more than the transactions screen said. So I counted the total # of guys I had in AAA according to the minors report (36), compared it to the # the transactions page said (26/25, 1 guy was on the DL), and I realized that the difference (10) was the same # of guys that wouldn't show up on the screens. Also of note was the fact that all these missing guys (batters and pitchers) were at the end of their respective sections on the minors report so they were rather easy to pick out.

So to fix it I just started demoting some guys to AA and then used the "Ask AI to set up..." function on the AAA transaction page. The missing guys then started showing up on the pitching and lineup screens!

Anyway, as a way to prevent this from happening to unsuspecting users in the future I'd recommend that either:

A) the transaction page show the actual # of players you have in each level, not just the max if you're above it, and, in addition, some warning notice show up that if you go over the maximum allowable players then some won't show up on the various screens so you'll have to do what I did, or

B) that the game just flat out prevent you from adding more than the max # of players per level.

For the sake of maneuverability in the minors I'd prefer something like A, but B might just be the smart easy fix.

Thanks a lot for responding! I had given up for the time being on trying to fix the problem and in the meantime some key players of mine in AAA were getting absolutely no playing time. Who knows how long it might have lasted if you hadn't prompted me to look at it closer.

You can delete that "kq76...zip" file I uploaded. I tried, but someone smartly disabled the permissions.

OK, we have the OOTP 11 team hot on the trail of this, so I'm going to close this thread out for now...

Thanks kq!
