Just out of curiosity, why do you need someone to upload it for you the first time?

For some of this, you might need to go to your system admin to help, but the things you need to know are that the File system on that server does not necessarily correlate to the paths used for the URLs that you need. I assume you are wanting to get this file via HTTP correct?

This part really depends on how your server is set up (which is why you might need your system admin's help here). On many hosted sites, you might have a directory labeled something like "public_html" which acts as your web root. If you have something like that, then putting a file such as league.tar.gz into the public_html folder would end up letting you download it via http://yoursitename.com/league.tar.gz , or if you created a new folder inside of public_html called "files" and put the league.tar.gz into public_html/files you then could download it at http://yoursitename.com/files/league.tar.gz

The big key here for you is going to be trying to understand how your site is setup, which is why you might need your system admin to help if you still aren't sure on this part.

Hope this helps!

It's all on my computer haha.

So I should upload into the html folder?index.html document? league.html document?

How about I PM you my FTP information and you can look at the files....then maybe you could see what's wrong/what needs to be done.

Ok screenshots will be posted at around 3 PM EST. But the problem is:

I uploaded the file for the game into the html folder and now you can see the game homepage on the website (diehardbaseballootp.com)

But the problem is if you try to go to the League home for major leagues, etc...nothing comes up.

The uploading of reports is a seperate process from the file upload, and also has the ability for a different upload path as well. Since you have some of the reports but not the rest, did you have OOTP upload those reports, or did you manually just put the index.html file there by hand and that was it?

Since you obviously have found where your web root directory on your server is now, determine where you want your Reports (HTML files) to go, configure the upload settings for that correctly in OOTP and then run the reports generation process to create and upload those reports to that directory. You then should see the full reports show up as well as being able to click on them.

Steve Battisti, one of the members of our team wrote a > 500 pages online manual for this kind of questions, please reward his work by using it

This page could help you:
OOTP Baseball Manual - Generating and Uploading Reports

I strongly suggest you read the whole chapter, as a commish it's a "must":

After creating the archive of reports and uploading them to the server, did you go to the server and extract them (unzip the zip file there)? Otherwise it likely i just one big online_reports.tar.gz file there still.

If your server does not give you the ability to extract files zipped up to it easily, you will have to resort to uploading the individual files one by one.

I don't mean this to be an advertisement but I guess it ends up being so as soon as i say...

Use www.allsimbaseball.com as your webhost. You get everything setup for you and all your FTP worries become simple, copy and paste solutions that are provided for you.

But if you go it alone, many issues can arise that can discourage the best of us.

But if you are determined to go it alone, PM me and I will be glad to setup an AIM meeting and try to walk you through what I think you you need to do. (I don't recommend you give your FTP information to anyone!!)

For many years, I've wondered how my name got mixed up with the name "felix".
