The GUBA needs help with Online Reports
Is there anybody out there who is willing to try and fix a problem we have had in the GUBA for quite some time now with our online reports?
Awhile ago, not exactly sure how or why, our HTML reports got broken. Retired players were somehow lost, at least partially, and/or show up as Joe Unknown in league history. Team pages are also half empty. For instance, here is the page for the 2007 California Crusaders, the inaugural season of the GUBA. Hardly anything is there. This is the same with every team. Is there any way to fix this and get the data back? |

This has to do with your retired.dat file. If the league was simmed on two different computers without one computer getting the retired.dat file, the retired players show up as joe unknown. As for the other issues, I have no idea why half of your players are missing. May have something to do with the retired.dat file.

Every player that retires becomes a Joe Unknown. Their data is instantly lost. Is there a way we can provide our retired.dat file for debug? We'd really like to retrieve this information if possible.

OKAY...
My esteemed colleague KML over there made some progress. Somehow, in-game in OOTPX, all of the retired players are there still. If you go to GUBA->History and click on "retired players" they are all listed. You can sort on their stats, see their player pages, all that stuff. However, when we are generating league reports (for the record, we do FULL reports and not the condensed online league reports) none of that stuff shows up, team leaderboards and history pages are barren because of all the retired players not showing up, etc. There's got to be a way to fix this. Anybody? |

I'm going to move this thread over to the Commissioner's Corner to see if anyone there has had experience with dealing with retired.dat and html issues.

I'm going to revive this. I don't know why it was moved to commish corner, but hey...
We are at the point where we are going to begin the Hall of Fame in the GUBA, and not having player history is a huge barrier to this being done. |
