Question about switching to OOTPX

I'm the commissioner of Between The Lines Baseball and I'm thinking of switching my league from OOTP 09 to OOTP X when is the best time to do it?

From the OOTP 10 game manual:

"You can import a game file at any time during your game's calendar year. However, for league consistency, we recommend converting after your last playoff game, before proceeding to the offseason."

In the thread I quoted were several people who mentioned reasons why they feel a different time is better than what is mentioned there.
