Separate commish password?

I am trying to setup an online league for the first time.

On my manager's options page, I clicked "Commissioner mode" and I also clicked the "Password" option. I am fairly confident that this is used to log me in to see the game world.

The part that is puzzling me, is that once I was logged in as the commissioner, when I went to select Game Options, it asked me for a commissioner password. I entered the same password that I had been given above. The first time I tried, it did not match the password I had set up for my Commissioner user, to log into the league. So I had to go to a backup with no passwords and start again.

This time, in the online league setup, I clicked the button to set Commish Password and set up a different password. It let me into the game setup and I changed all of the online option settings.

But now, when I log in and go to game setup, it does not ask me for a password. I don't understand why sometimes it asks me for a password and sometimes it doesn't.

So I am puzzled.

Are there actually two different passwords (one from the manager options and the other from the game setup online options)? Is one for logging in as "commish" manager, and the other is for performing genuine online commish actions like league settings?

In an online league, the commish password should get you into any team's manager. Once it recognize's that password used, you can do everything you need. I only have one password.

Yes, there are two seperate passwords. The league commish password is what lets you get into the game setup screens for an online league as well as it will allow you to login as any team (your team included).

Your commish account (just like any other manager account) has a seperate password, that you can choose to set to be the same as the commish password if you want, but if you set it as a different password, it will only log you into your account and none of the rest.
