I believe that this is new thing for OOTPX but I've only done the Mac thing since last July and have "9" on my Windows box.

Ah, good point here.. I am talking about OOTPX running on MacOS X and Linux 32bit (or 64bit with 32bit libs installed). I am not familiar with the way the windows stuff works, but its my understanding that a similar offline registration is availible. If you want a definative answer for windows you will need to ask Markus, Andreas or Steve as I have not used windows in years

Hey guys, I just pre ordered a few days ago but when I looked on my bank statement I saw I was charged twice. It's still pending so I'm figuring one will just go away. Other people have probably had this problem so instead of posting a new topic, I figured id just put it in here ( I did look through pages of posts and used the search feature but didn't find anything) .

Anyone have any advice/have this happen to them?

If you tried to pay more than once and for whatever reason you got a message the attempt failed, it still was putting a hold on your bank account for the cost. It did it to me 17 times when it kept saying my address didn't match the address the bank has, which isn't so but that's what it kept saying, so I kept trying various addresses till I finally gave up and used paypal. In the meantime I had a hold for over $500 on my account which fell off 3 days later.

OOTP 10 for Windows will use the same eLicense technology as OOTP 9. It has the offline registration feature for those without internet connection and it does not require internet connection to run.

I, too, made the pre-purchase today. I became interested in the product after playing another baseball game and then trying Inside the Park. That led me to Out of the Park and the v. 9 demo, which just expired. I'm ready for the new one!

It's pretty fun for an inexpensive, outdated game. It was a definitely a good idea, which would benefit nicely from a facelift and a little more conceptual design. All you really do is play ball and go to the bar, picking up equipment and increasing skills along the way. I don't know if there's a demo or not but I would recommend giving it a try.

Patiently waiting...ordered many moons ago...contemplating how many hours I will burn on this game. It would have been nice to have an in game timer back when OOTP 5 came out to see how many full days of our live has been eaten up by my OOTP addiction

Believe me, it's better to not know. Information like that could fall into the wrong hands and make for way more home improvement projects or other chores. EHM has it and I really try not to look at it.

Just one of my EHM games was around 300 something hours.

Looking over many of these comments puts me in the same boat....wanting to preorder but wanting to make sure markus & co. get paid what OOTPX is worth to me....not wanting to wait anymore but wanting to wait for a patched version....and also looking forward to the Mrs.'s vacation so that I can play OOTP for 99.9% of my free time over a week(mine's going to Florida in August).

Never before in my lifetime have I been more satisfied with a computer game/ video game franchise, outside of "Civilization", than with OOTP...Version X will surely continue that trend.

And I agree. OOTP (and FOF from the football side of things) are by far the two game/game series that I've played more than any other in my life.

Ditto. I played the FOF series for many years. I just recently was introduced to OOTP and have become a fan.

Markus, just wondering, was OOTP 6 Baseball Manager a prototype to this sort of OOTP? Judging from pictures, this game looks very similar to OOTP 6 baseball manager...
