Legacy Issues

Is there anywhere to get info on whether specific logged issues from OOTP 9 are fixed in the new version?

All I can think of is to check the OOTP9 Tech section on issues closed or claimed fixed. It's here: OOTP 9 - Closed or Claim Fixed - OOTP Developments Forums Should at least give some clues.

Not at this point, other than the suggested Tech Support forum.

K thanks. The reason I ask is I've already checked there. The issue I'm wanting to know about is not closed or claimed fixed, it's still in the logged issues section. My purchase decision on the new game will be based on it(BZ 232). OOTP is an excellent game, and it's a relatively minor issue, but essential to the way I want to play.

Now that the game is out, is it possible to get an answer on this from somebody?

Fictional League with Reduced PCMs Creates a few Players with Wildly High BABIP

Markus marked that it worked when he tried it in OOTP 10.

It doesn't appear to have been resolved, but if you can wait a little for the fires to stop burning (and remind me), I can try to run a test for you or something...

Since Bryan started this --I have a question--can you start a single league of say, 12 teams, all in one division, no playoffs, the team with the best record is the Champion? When you do this are the wildcard standings still shown and are teams that tie for second(no playoffs) still required to play a meaningless tie breaker game? I would love it if someone was willing to test this for me. Thanks to anyone that is willing to do so.

Battists: Thanks, I'll do that -- appreciate the answer .

thomamon: I'll link you to where I reported this issue before, so you know what I was trying to do and whatnot, instead of repeating the explanation here. This is the link to the OOTP 9 Tech Support thread:

www.ootpdevelopments.com/board/ootp-9-logged-issues/171307-bz-232-created-players-pcm-issue.html

In that thread, there is a link to the OOTP 8 thread where I originally reported this, which has a more detailed explanation. Note that the original player pool is not the problem, but rather the drafts in follow-on years where screwy players end up getting created pretty consistently.

What kind of settings are you using out of curiosity. I've done a ton of tests this year, long term sims and never saw a guy hit like that. Would you mind sending me your league file of how you have it set up so I can take a look at it?

I don't have the league files anymore, I deleted all of that stuff(there is no longer a trace of OOTP 8 and OOTP 9 on my system). I FTP'd in the data files for the use of tech support at the time I was talking about the issue.

However, my settings were absurdly simple. I simply set talent changes to minimum(to avoid that as a possible cause, I think it was 1 on a 1-200 scale), set up a 4-team league with a 60-game schedule, and set PCM's to .400 across the board. I was using MLE's similar to the deadball era, but frankly that shouldn't even matter. I would note the top couple averages each year, and you could never sim out more than 5-10 years(at the very most, it usually happened sooner) before seeing a ridiculous .450 or so averages(eventually as high as .600+ if you keep going) in for leagues that never had anyone over .325 or .330 in the original created pool, and with a short schedule/few teams it doesn't take long to sim out enough years to see it. I didn't mess with contracts, financials, team names/locations etc. or anything else, I just changed the necessary numbers for quick startup/tests.

I will give it a go and try and set up a league like this later and see how it pans out

I'll add a bump on Lou's question about the tie breakers. Can anyone confirm whether or not the issues from OOTP9 have been resolved. The meaningless tie games were killing me.

I checked this out, and in this scenario, no wild card standings are shown. I don't believe there is any tiebreaker for second, but in the few seasons I had time to sim, I didn't get any ties.

I hope this helps!

Only if you check the box for Show League Leaders right?
Otherwise they do display when you view the standings. However, the wild card standings do not display while you are simming which is nice.

Regarding the 2nd place ties, I can report it's definitely fixed, that doesn't happen anymore.
