World Series winner?

My brother and I were discussing World Series winners, talking who was lucky at the time or who met a team when they were hot etc etc. This got me to thinking so I ran a little sim.

What I did was create a historical league with no trades, assign rookies to their team and deleted all the teams that didn't participate in playoffs. Then I moved all of these teams to the same division, generated a 162 game schedule and looked at the results.

I also created it with and without dh for some perspective. It was neat to see some teams that actually lost in the playoffs really have the most wins in the year by a large margin.

It just really reinforces my belief of how delicate the game of baseball is by the day to day and pitch to pitch decisions that are made by the teams.
