Will I be able to play this like a Championship/Football Manager?

I bought the previous versions of OOTP and while I loved the stats and mods, I felt totally out of the game as a sim, I really dont want to play the game as a simulation, I want to play it as a manager with restrictions and playing every game. When you click the baseball icon on the hotbar it skips the game, where in FM it would take you to the game as if you were the manager and let you tinker with the squad and look at your opponents. Will OOTPB10 give you an option to play it like a management game, its what I desire because everything else in OOTPB is amazing.

That option has always been there in OOTP. You have to go to the schedule screen and find your game (in OOTP9 it defaults to the top) and click manage at the bottom of the box and it will take you into that days game.

The baseball I think you are talking about is the "finish day" icon which is why it was simming the game.

yes i know its always been there as such but its not easy and a pain to keep going to drop downs and being able to see everybodys stats from around the league, i want it so that finish day or sim until all star break etc is totally gone unless i go on holiday.

I wouldn't expect the UI to change to what you want. Since FM is made by an entirely different company I doubt OOTP will work exactly like it. Your best bet is to adjust to the current UI.

OOTP will never do that, because it caters to such a large audience. There are lots of people who sim only, seasons at a time. To get rid of those options would alienate those players.

Fear not! OOTP doesn't alienate you, either. If configued properly, OOTP will call up the schedule screen or the manager homepage when you have a game to manage. All you need to do is click one button. During the game, you can switch to another screen (or maybe, this year, with widgets) call up any and all games' box scores and reports which are being, have been, or will be played that day. After the game, one click on a shortcut icon or text on the manager's homepage will take you to the schedule screen (if you're not already there). From there, you can go as far as watching every game that played that day.

One of the things that makes OOTP great is that if there is a way you want to play the game, chances are it can be done if it can't be made to automatically happen.

It might be a good idea (if it's not already been added) to have an option to automatically take a manager to an unplayed game if he accidentally presses "Finish Day" without playing it....

I've always wished FM gave you the option to just sim through the game, the way OOTP does. The more options, the better, as far as I'm concerned.
