Was it the "bap hop" or the content that confused you?

If it is the content:
The ball takes a bad hop and hits him in the chin, he stays with the play and doesn't give up on it, picks the ball up and throw the runner out.

The phrase "stays with it" indicates that he picked up the ball and then throws the runner out.

It might be clearer if it read, "but he stays with it... picks it up... and throws out the runner."

Still seeing this in 10.2.16.

Not sure I understand this one. O'Neal is the catcher. Where did he throw it?

O'Neil catches the ball in the air. There should be no mention of a throw. I'll see if I can fix it. (Good catch, BTW, wrathchild. )

The number of outs in the PbP is incorrect.

Not really a good catch (good pun, though)! I'm just trying to follow along in the game and don't like being confused about what's going on in the field.

Yeah, I'm confused more by the post than the pbp. That's what prompted my question. I don't see anything wrong with it.

The first letter of the player's name is missing from the second to last line.

Don't be so quick about reopening the issue about the truncated PbP. It appears that I may have made a mess by not originally installing to the default location. I'm trying to figure it out now.

Ok. Here's a strange one. I'm definitely on 10.2.16 this time. This was the complete text for the 0-1 pitch. It looks incomplete, as if I only got the tail end of it, but that's not even the weirdest part. This was a squeeze bunt play. Savage was the batter and he is still at bat. It recorded an out, and removed the runner from 3rd. I'm thinking the name should be referring to the runner coming in from 3rd to home.

Someone seems a little confused on this one. Marron is the catcher, but the throw is actually going to 3rd, with the runner being tagged at 3rd (Farrer), being announced as a double. Wouldn't he have gotten a triple, and wouldn't the 3rd baseman be the one taking the throw from the cutoff man?

Thanks for helping us find the errors.

The Text Database is correct.
I don't know why the first letter of the name was cut off.
I reworked the story so that the last sentence is part of the main story with no space and no second paragraph.
Hope that may fix it.

I wonder if I'm the only one that is noticing this. I usually don't look at the news stories that much, but I just happened to be gazing at one page and saw a similar example. I'm thinking that the last line is supposed to start with a capital F but I'm not sure. Maybe I'm just lucky.

Here's another example of a similar situation, this one in a completely different universe. Newton, the catcher, is somehow trying to tag someone out at 3rd, while we're being told that the runner at 3rd only has a double.

Does it count as striking out on 3 pitches if one of them was fouled off, resulting in 4 actual pitches?

I believe a BZ exists for this one, marked LATER.
