The vast vast vast (and maybe another few 'vasts') majority of most games in most gendres where playing agaisnt the AI, feature at the very least parts of the AI's decision making process that are weak and leave an advantage to the human opponent.
Vets of OOTP know the weaknesses and often curb themselves form taking advantage of it. (I no longer allow myself to trade halfway through the year for the first pick of the bottom 2 or 3 teams for mediocre players so I can lock the top draft picks the following season.) With some games the weakness cant be curbed. Theres a War game I love, that when you play AI, even if you are in the offensive position in a scenario (The AI is defending a fortified town, so has tactical advantage) the AI will leave well fortified positions and go towards you in the open and all you have to do is wait and 'peg em off' one by one as they appear in your sights. How do you curb this? By riunning your tropps as fast as you can towards the enemy before they do the same? The funny thing is, there is moves by the AI that we think are bad, yet are a matter of opinion if it were a human controlling it doing the exact same deal/move. The AI will make questionable trades, and sign marginal players to big money... but how many times have we seen the same by humans in on line leagues!!! |
