First impressions!

Just started my DL but will have to wait 6 hours to play. Any first impressions would be greatly appreciated for those of us less fortunate to have to wait a bit.

I'm big on graphics and I LOVE the little team logos on the standings screen. Makes the game look very high end.

Great job on the game so far. Except for the background image.

Me too. Won't be able to touch it for about 10-12 hours, but I'm off the next two days :-) Can't wait!

Very initial impressions...

I LOVE the new skin. The graphics, everything. Looks great.

I'm disappointed, though, to see the same quotes in the loading screen from the last version. Small thing, but all new quotes/trivia/game tips/whatever would go a long way to improving the new game feel.

More impressions to follow...

I love how it downloads so slowly.
Keeps the anticipation level very high.
When it finishes, maybe I'll install it.

Those quotes are held in a text file that is completely customizable IIRC. I think Markus will be happy if that is one of the only gripes

Opening screen looks nice indeed ... although Turner Field might have gave it just a little more dazzle !!

Oh, I know it's customizable. 1998 Yankees (Now deja bru) had a great set of quotes for the last version. Or was it the version before? I forget.

Tiny complaint. Just putting it out there. Would just be nice to have all new ones. After several hundred hours of playing, those get repetitive quite easily. Believe me, if that's all I have to complain about, I'll take it.

Don't count on that, though...

Believe it or not, we used Deja Bru's file (with permission) as the basis for the hints file. Then we supplemented it with even more hints.

After installing the game and running it for the first time, the very first quote that came up for me was a new one I've never seen before. Give it time.....

Unfortunately for me, my Machine is fast enough that I don't ever really see the trivia/info. Damn, I should get a sower machine!

Memory: 4 GB
System: Mac OS X 10.5.7

First Impressions (without running intensive simulations)

Initial game load time is consistent with all previous OOTP offerings. While the typical OOTP Developments graphically heavy interface isn't to my preference, the user interface is noticeable faster than in previous versions. Delays no longer exist between pages and navigation is much more fluid.

I'll report back more information once I've simulated 30+ seasons, as well as tested some historical elements.

That data is copyright and trademarked by MLB. It will never be included in the shipped version.

A modder will provide that data.
