Another thing: Jon Lester was considered the Sox #2 pitcher going into the season and Brad Penny was considered the #5 starter while Justin Masterson was considered a set-up man. In the game, Penny is listed as a MR.

I changed the rating scales to 1-100 (they were preset to 1-20). But the ratings on it are absolutely horrible. If people know the Mets. Oliver Perez definately isn't better then Johan Santana (even thought Perez's atts. in the game say otherwise).
I think many people use the 1-100 scale as it is much less complicated and goes much more in depth. |

Just purchased game this morning and noticed a couple people missing from the roster set as of opening day.
Carlos M. Martinez (New Orleans Zephyrs) Tim Torres (Jacksonville Suns) Carlos Vasquez (Jacksonville Suns) Charlie Fermaint (Huntsville Stars) also while not active he is on the Major League DL for Boston Miguel Gonzalez (rule V pick from Angels) |

He has the birthdate, birthplace and batting/throwing arms of the pitcher, but the position and height/weight of the position player. The player in the game was born December 6, 1982 in Sucre, Venezuela. He is 6' 0" tall and weighs 150 lbs as a 2B and bats left and throws left. Carlos A. Vasquez (JAK) was born December 6, 1982 in Sucre, Venezuela. He is 6' 3" weighing 230 lbs, bats and throws left-handed. Carlos M. Vasquez (DUN, 2008 stats show Auburn, not sure about 2009) was born May 15, 1986 in San Pedro de Macoris, Dominican Republic. He is 6' 0" and weighs 150 lbs, and bats and throws right-handed. Just thought I'd point out that neither player is really "missing", they've just been merged together as one to form one less than mediocre ball player. Oliver Perez isn't that good in this set, and isn't anywhere near Johan so I'm guessing that solved the issue. Ratings are pretty good I think, that's probably the least of any issues.Going to get back on things and make some more changes in the next week or so to the database including those contract problems. Inaccessible Free Agents - Patch #2 Roster
Within the roster set found in the new patch, there are dozens or so free agents who are inaccessible (cannot be signed) and should one attempt to request a scouting report, the game crashes.
Players include Santiago Martinez (3B), Alberto Lucero (CL), Chris Stephenson (MR), Robbie Flannery (MR) and Julio Nunez (RF). These 5 in particular, are all very highly rated. What is the purpose of these players (fictional studs to place on one's team via commish mode?)? How do you "legally" access them? Also ... why do the ratings found in the roster default view and transaction views differ so much from the seemingly more accurate outlook found under the scouting tab in the player profile? It's quite frustrating to have to open each players profile to get a feel for my scouts evaluation ... Thanks in advance!! |

Dodgers minor league SP Josh Lindblom I would say has made his conversion from a reliever to a starter and should get a boost in endurance to a 5 or 6.
Mets minor league SP Brandon Moore may be deserving of a little boost in ratings. 29 IP, 18 hits , 2 walks , 2 ER = .62 era , 24 Ks. SP Brandon Moore

It's pretty minor, but Joel Pineiro's ground ball rate is listed as 51%, while this year it has been at 72% and last year was at 63%.

So is the only way we are going to get an updated roster is with a new patch or will a set be released separate?

This might be answered previously, but Iīm too lazy to read all pages.
Why canīt I turn retired players like Joel Skinner, Luis Rivera, Davey Lopes, Sam Perlozzo into coaches ????? Tim Wallach worked OK to put him into Isotopes, but I would like to have those 1st and 3rd base coaches be available for future Bench Coach or even Manager duty. Any guesses. |
