OK guys. This is officially the most flawless OOTP release ever. Usually after a release, the first night results in about 150 issues in my bug database. This time, it is just 30, and nothing really major.
So, I would like to thank our beta team, they did a marvelous job! Thanks guys ![]() So, the plan is for tomorrow (Friday) to release the game to the public. And on Monday I will start coding the first patch while also cleaning up the 2009 roster set. It seems this will not take long, and after the first patch release I am going to disappear for a while, I think I need an extended vacation ![]() Enjoy the game! Thank you very much, so far so good! Can I ask a question? With the pitcharound thing, is there some kind of strategy beyond the obvious here, or a specific place in the manual I can find advice? Even with exceptional pitchers, in OOTP9, my K:BB ratios are always terrible. Is there something in regards to pitching around vs pitching too that might be relevant?

Oh yeah dude, I got that and sorry, I know this thread is primarily for your congrats and I join you! I was just thinking of like, 0-2 counts, making hitters chase a pitch or two or something like that.

Since Markus is all ears tonight
Would you have time time to describe what hold runner means? When I think of hold runner I think of 1st baseman holding the runner on first base. Which means any runner with average or better speed should be held. However it has been mentioned that this isnt how its intended in the game, is this correct? And congrats on a fabulous release! So if a hitter is down 0-2, I obviously don't wanna throw anything over the plate, so pitching around should increase my chances of a batter chasing and thus, a K? Is this right? How sensitive to the count is the game?

![]() Please open the ad-ons dialog in the game menu. Click on "Reload". You should then get a list of add-ons. Four of them are the skin file sets. You can download whichever you need, then click on install and the files are at their correct place. At least that's the plan! ![]() Then you can make your changes and click on "Rebuild skin" in the game menu. |

When the count is 0-2, pitching around is not going to increase your chances of a K, it's probably going to decrease it. When you pitch around, you don't give the batter anything good to hit, therefore the pitches are off the plate, so you're never going to get a called strike. Pitching around is not intended to strike someone out, it's intended to make the batter swing at a pitch that he can't make good contact on.

Also, I know you're working on other areas, Muzamba, but be aware that Andreas and I have exchanged some conversation on the Rebuild option. 1) I don't think that was included in the final game version's game menu. In order to use the rebuild option, you'll have to change the skin.bin file to oldskin.bin, etc. like we've done in previous versions. 2) At least in the black skin, there is a known issue - and it may be specific user system related - that after a rebuild, a couple of pulldown, dropdown, areas inherit transparent background rather than the original white. It's not a dealbreaker, as you can still read the options, just not as easily. In any event, let us know of your successes or problems so we can add a comment to the existing BZ should you encounter any difficulties.
