Finding Int'l Players in OOTP 10?
I've never played with "create hidden players" but want to give it a try.
Are hidden international players discovered in the same way as they were in OOTP 9? I'm wondering what % of scouting y'all devote to international? Since I don't have foreign leagues to scout, the only reason to scout internationally is for hidden players, if that makes a difference in your responses. Thanks. |

I'm 7 years in on my test league and have yet to find one. I have a max budget (12.5M) at 25% devoted for international scouting, but it seems like a waste.
Someone thought this might be a problem with the MLB quickstart.

I ran a couple long term test leagues far down the road looked to see where the superstars came from. I found that, similar to OOTP9, a fair number appeared to have been originally signed as foreign finds.
In fact, I would prefer to tone the number down.

Yeah, I know in beta I found some, so they definitely exist. It should be similar to v9. They eventually get released into FA after a certain point (like 7 or 14 days I think). I don't remember if that part was different in v9 or not.

I noticed a few in the test league I ran.
I also like in the player history it will say "Discovered in ______" if they were a hidden player. You could even search the player text files to look for that if you want to see if other teams are finding them. |

Good to read those last three posts confirming they're in the game.
Now, can either of you three confirm they're in the game when you use the MLB Quickstart that came with OOTP X. I believe THAT was the original issue.

I started a New 2009 Major League Game, deleted all existing players, then filled all teams fictional players. I only finished one season but no international players have been discovered yet. Hidden Players option is checked. Is the problem with both Quickstart and New Major League Game options?
