He struggled in the majors so I had to send him down. Now, with the same ratings, he is 78/78. I am wondering if his AAA ratings are based solely on his abilities as measured only against other AAA players? And, is this a bug?

The reason why I am harping on this is that these crazy fluctuations warp the game. I just shopped him (a AAA player now) and I was offered an MLB 72/72 MR straight up for him.

This issue is really messing things up in a fictional league for me. I posted about it here: Potential Ratings Seem Completely Screwed Up For Pitchers (This seems like the same issue)
It's not a gamebreaker, but it's pretty darn close. It makes looking through your system for prospects really tough. Random guys are rated an 80 pot, when there's no way they should even be close. And since I never saw this in 9 or previous versions, I've gotta guess it has something to do with the pitch rating evaluation.

I would venture to guess it is because 50% of his rating is based on current year.
I usually lower that weight to around 30% or less and bump up ratings higher to counteract that effect. It keeps overall ratings more stable. |

I'm really beginning to believe the only optimal solution is to keep it on 100% ratings.
