Just Curious...
I play every single out in my OOTP seasons and I was wondering, for those of you who do this also, how many seasons have you played?
I am into the 2019 season now with OOTPx and am still playing the same fun way. I have had some great players and not so great players. Busts and gems and the besy part is, I have seen every AB and IP that they have. Like I said, just curious who else has done this long of a season playing every AB |

If you mean playing out every game for one team, I do that. I am finishing my fourth season in my fictional league. I have 2 leagues of 3 divisions each, 30 teams. I've played through four versions of OOTP so far. I've had a strange history, as the second season I won the championship but haven't broken .500 in the other three; in late August I'm about 15 games under .500 in my fourth season.
By the way, I'm also playing a historical league from 1890 and a historical fictional league from 1901. I play every game of those also. There are a couple of leagues I do sim, including a multi-ERA historical league. |

I always play out every game as a AAA manager. I like having no control over who is on my team. In total I have played out hundreds of years. Never managed to play out a 1871-2009 league yet. Something always blows up or the league files get too big or something evil strikes. Maybe the Ghost of Seasons Past? or is that Christmas Past...I forget. What was the question?

I went back and forth between simming day by day and playing the game. I finally decided that playing the games through was the best for me. It does get you a lot more involved in the team. There are times when I want to sim ahead just to get to the ammy draft or something but its worth it to stick with it IMO. |

I've been playing a dynasty started in v4 and imported to each new version. The start year is 2002 using the Rolen17(Erich) real MLB roster. I am in spring training of the 2018 season, so 16 full seasons and starting my 17th. I get two or three seasons in with each version. I should really start playing year round but I tend to move to WWSM or NBA 2k in the winter.
I play with the Cubs. The 2002 roster included Mark Prior at AAA who I promoted and of course Kerry Wood. Wood is long gone but Prior is now 37 years old with 305 career wins and I've managed every one of them. There's still a number of the original MLB players in the game. Drew Henson is playing for Atlanta and has 543 career homers. Adam Dunn now with Boston has 562 homers. Griffey Jr retired HOF 707 career homers. The list goes on and on. The fictional players that have come into the league over the years are approaching milestones like 500 HR's. My HOF to be catcher, Forrets "Gump" Avera will break the 500 mark if he can stay healthy in the next two years. He was moved to 1b two years ago when I was able to get a good young catcher in a trade. The game is so immersive and the history so deep a guy could write a book about it and the reader would think it was all real. |

Hi All,
I'm currently in my ninth season and I've played out most of my games, maybe 75-80%, increasingly playing out more as the seasons have gone on. At first I wanted to play a little faster in order to build up a history. I think I'm to the point where I'm going to Play Them All. Quite a few of the players I originally drafted are still playing well for me but they're aging fast. Like most of you, I find myself very attached to my players and I want to spend as much time with them as I can in their final days. When I did sim games, I'd play out the first 6-7 innings and if the score was relatively close I'd play out the rest of the game. This worked out well as I didn't feel like I missed as much. happy gaming, Frank |
