AI Roster Moves
I started a fictional league and have set up my various teams as I wanted them. They didn't all have 25 in each, but I have selected the button to allow incomplete minor leagues (allow ghost players). After advancing a day, I see that all the moves that I made have been undone and other moves were made, etc.
I noticed that my team had a General Manager on the personnel page. I don't remember seeing that before as I have always thought that I had been considered the GM. I fired him because I thought that might be doing it but players got moved around some more the day after I did this. Here is the question, where is the selection to NOT have the AI override my personnel changes or to automatically make any for that matter? I think it it in there and I swear I have looked but I cannot find it. Another weird thing I saw was that I had waived and DFA a player with the stipulation to pull him back if claimed, but it looks like he got claimed and it gone. Finally, I had done a fictional league in OOTP9 and had a problem with the schedule and the game displaying spring training stats in the regular season. The advice I gave was to make sure NOT to check the Auto adjust date if XML schedule found. Does that still hold true in version X or should I check that box as well. Thanks |

Go to the manager home page and make sure you are the actual manager of the team . If you are go to the Manager Options and make sure that you're name is selected in the Team Control Settings you don't want changed.

OK, this is infuriating me! Checked the manager options like you said, all options are me. It had only been a day since I fired the GM so I thought that might have been the trick, so I advanced a day after moving people down where they belong.
Sure enough, those guys all got moved back and most of my minors are angry now because they keep getting moved all around. On top of that, someone is moving guys to waivers that are irrevocable, so everything is getting crapped up. I have checked the ghost players for the minors thing, so there isn't any requirement that I have 25 guys in each minor league level, is there? And I tried to get crummy guys off the 40 man roster but it just keeps filling it back up to there. I really don't know what I did wrong, and I have invested a lot of time, too much time, getting to January 7. If I can't get this thing fixed this league as I see it is unplayable and I certainly don't enjoy the prospect of starting all over. Please, anything else I am missing? |

Go to your team's Home Page. Go to Options & Ballpark. About half way down the left side of the screen you'll see a box you can toggle called Roster AI. Make sure the box is checked if you want to prevent the AI from making any roster moves on that team. That should stop the AI from moving your players around.

No problem. In version 9 I checked that box before drafting, just to make sure I didn't forget about it. After the draft the game asked if I wanted it to set up my roster. I said yeah and nothing happened! I was stumped. Took me 1/2 an hour to figure out it was because I had prevented the AI from making any roster moves!
That sort of made the roster AI box stick in my mind .....
