Um.. I'm pretty sure the baseball writers would vote for Harden in this situation. 1 win is really that big of a difference when he leads in so many different categories?

I don't think it is even debatable - Harden clearly better.

If those four pitchers gave the best performances in your NL, then Harden wins.
I don't even need to see the other stats. Most of us have been waiting for Harden to have that year anyway.

Harden would get my vote.
Todd Wellemeyer, Todd Wellemeyer... Just played a game where he ended up with 23 wins and a 2.10 ERA. In that same game though, Geovany Soto hit .220 with 1 HR.

I agree that ERA is pretty much the most important stat. But you cant rule out wins. For example, what if a pitcher happens to always be pitching when the wind blows in at wrigley field? Or perhaps a shadow lies across the mound for 5 innings at several of you starts, thus causing hitters to not pick up the ball as well and help your ERA? If you win a game, by definition you out duel the opposition pitcher, who is pitching on the same day, and in the same environment |

I understand we're talking about starting pitchers though, I was just pointing out how arbitrary a win could be.
