Best Way to Draft Free Agents onto Teams?
From the actual 2004 season, I released all players to free agancy. I then changed the league to a 20 team league with fictional cities. Now I want to put players on teams based on rosters I created outside of OOTP (many years ago when I did this league in SOM). What is the quickest/easiest way to get players onto teams using the printed rosters I have? Do I have to go through a "draft"? I'd prefer to just find them in free agency and assign them to their new teams.

Though it might actually be quicker to draft them, since it is merely a matter of controlling all of the teams and then finding the player and clicking one button. With assignining them to a team you need to find the guy, bring up the screen, select the major leagues and then select the team.

I have the rosters for all my teams. I want to draft all players onto one team, then move on to the next team. It will be much faster that way. |

When I click on a player in commish mode, I get his profile. If I right click, I get some options, but none to assign him to a team. |

![]() Open his player profile, then go to the Editor tab. Look on the left side. See where it says 'Team Information, Select new Team?' Pick his league, then his team. That is how you assign a guy to a team. If you want to edit their contracts, that is further down on the left side.

![]() I found it's fastest to take control of a team, type the player's last name into the search bar, right click and "sign player". |

That works too. Sometimes we just get set in our ways and don't see a different way of performing the same task. I frequently find other ways of getting things done when I read these forums.

You can also see individual players' real life stats by looking at their player profile and going to the Real Life Stats tab.
