Which Season to Use?

If I want to create a season with players to perform based on their 2003 MLB stats, should I use the players from the 2003 MLB season or the 2004 MLB season?

I selected the 2004 season, which shows "prior year stats" as 2003. However, some players whose last season was 2003 do not appear in the player file.

You want the 2003 season.

Thanks. I was trying to figure this out based on ratings, and some ratings don't make sense. For example, in the MLB 2003 season, Teixeira's first season, he hit 26 HR in 559 AB. Yet he is rated 5 for Power. I am using ratings based on actual stats from 1 season. Are the ratings supposed to be correlated to the stats when you select ratings based on 1 season?

Here's another example.

Victor Martinez
PHP Code:
       AB   HR   POWER RATING
2002   32    1
2003  159    1       16
2004  520   23       12
If the power rating was based on the related season, it seems the 2003 MLB file should have him rated as something very low, perhaps a 1 or 2, and the 2004 season should have him rated much higher. How did he get a 16 power rating for 2003 based on 1 HR in 159 AB? Again, I'm using ratings based on real stats from 1 season. I also removed all adjustments for low-AB batters, so it should be based on the straight-up stats.

Do you have scouts on? You may be seeing the ratings through there eyes, which are not going to be 100% accurate.

I just imported 2004 and Victor Martinez has a 47/100 power rating.

I thought I had turned scouts off for both seasons, but it was still on for 2003. When I turned it off, Martinez dropped to a Power Rating of 2. That explains it. Thanks.
