Interconnectedness in the baseball universe.

I recently started the default universe with winter leagues, ML and minors, Japan, Korea etc. and it got me wondering if players in one league can transfer to another. Like a Korean player who is good can eventually play in the majors or Japan, or even in Mexico . If so, how does that work? Thanks.

Sure, in league options there is an option whether to allow teams to sign free agents and/or trade with teams from other leagues.

Are the winter leagues used as rookie prep leagues like they are in real life? I mean, can you push your rookie players into a winter league, and know you'll get them back for spring training, or is the winter league free to trade my rookie to whereever they want? Does playing in a winter league have any effect on off-season rust?

Hmm, I see the option for enabling trades between major leagues but not for signing FA's from other leagues. Does the trade option enable the FA signing?

No,they just act as independent leagues as far as I can tell.

You don't need to enable FA signings between leagues. Just make sure you have FA enabled for that league and when they're out of contract, they go into one giant FA pool covering the universe.

Another question, is there a way to check the development/regression of players? I know in past versions you could click a 'player development' link but I can't find it on my team page.

It's on the manager home page.
