NEWBIE folowing the game with interest
Hi everyone .I am a great fan of tite bout .That being said I am also a baseball replay freak .It seems that the baseball game give you the capability of playing any year with any team at any time .I like that aspect.
I have some questions about the game ,some may sound stupid but here goes : Do the players in the historical simulations come close to producing their real results as in other games such as Dave Koch ,diamond Mind etc ? Can devise a league made up of differnt teams from different years? Can you make a league comprised of the best players from a franchise ? Is there any normalization taking place when playing teams or players from differnt years or eras?? thank you ,please anyone or everyone chime in |

You can import based on either real stats or normalized stats. You have the option when you import.

I have owned all of the games that you've mentioned and more. OOTP is the deepest, most detailed baseball sim that I've ever found. If you can think of it, it's probably in the game.
However, that also means there is much more of a learning curve because there are so many settings and tweaks that you can make to get things exactly as you want. In addition, you get the complete history of baseball in a database of every player ever in the game. You can play careers, unlike any of the other games, and never have to buy another season disk again.

Thank you for your response .
Canb you elaborate on the "tweaks "that need to be made .Do they have to be made prior to each season of simming ? I think I am ready tom be a long term follower of this game as everything I have read interests me greatly Thank you |

Here is a forum topic that describes what I'm talking about: Historical LTMs
You'll need a little practice just creating leagues and with the interface in general before you are ready to tackle that. Like I said, if you hold out a while, somebody will make a 'best players' league and post it. That will be a little more plug and play than a super accurate historical league. No you don't have to do it each season either. Just at the beginning. The game takes care of the rest. I tout that you'll never pick up another baseball sim after you play OOTP.
