Identifiers for pictures

Does OOTP only use name to identify players for photos? This is a little frustrating for minor league teams who has common names. If I update the picture, and overwrite the old picture, is that just for this save game? or is it pulling pictures for a single main directory?

For future versions of OOTP, couldn't you use Lahman player IDs instead of name? I suppose the system would have to generate IDs for fictional players, but the system isn't too complex.

Yes.

I'll try to answer this as best I can. When you create a game, OOTP will look at the photo folder in your data folder, and pick out photos for the players in your game (based on name matchup). It stores those photos in a folder called Images which is in your saved game folder for that game (path: News/HTML/Images). From then on, that's the place OOTP will look for photos as you play your game. If you want to fix a photo problem specifically for that game, you should do it with the photos in that Images folder. The easiest way (and I use the term easiest loosely ) I've found to deal with players have the same name, is to give one of them a middle initial and modify the photo accordingly. Then save and reload the game.
