Big Six Executes Contract Option; Retires
Christy Mathewson used his player option to stay on my team, then after simulating a day, I got a message he was retiring. I'm not sure if this is a bug... it sounds like something that could happen in real life but I'm not sure.
Thoughts? I just want to know if it's worth unretiring him for. He's coming off a Cy Young season, so there's no reason for him to retire. |

I'd look at his age. He retired IRL at age 35, but he still still led the league in ERA at age 32 and had 24 wins and 300+ innings at age 33. In your world, if he's in his mid to upper 30's I'd let him be, but if he's in his early 30's I'd bring him out of retirement and not feel very guilty about it.

I see where you're coming from. He had some small injuries this year, which could play a part in it? Anyways, he's thirty-eight so keeping him retired MAY be the better option at this point. |

Ok, this doesn't make any sense. I don't care what his age is, if the player excercised the option, there is no way he turns around and says I am retiring a day later unless he suffered a major injury! And what Matty did would be anti-Favre.
