Uninstalling
Can someone please remind me of the steps to complete eradicate OOTP from the Mac? I want to uninstall and reinstall the program, but need to make sure it is FULLY uninstalled first.
Also -- if OOTP 9 is still on my system, does that matter? Or to do a full clean uninstall should I also remove OOTP 9? Thanks, cbbl

1. Be sure you de-license first. That will save you some hassle later.
2. Don't worry about anything OOTP9. The two don't seem to overlap in any way. 3. You can try using the uninstaller that comes with the game. The last time I tried it was toward the end of beta, and it left a lot of stuff behind (logged as a bug/problem at the time). Might be fixed, but I suspect not. 4. You can trash everything OOTP10 that you see, but feel free to set aside things like games you have going, photo packs and the like. Your're really just trying to knock out anything that is involved in running the application itself. 5. There are some hidden files. They are in a folder labeled .Out of the Park Developments. Inside that are two subfolders, one labeled OOTP9, the other labeled OOTP10. They contain the various config files and user preferences, etc. So to get a complete uninstall, you have to be sure the OOTP10 folder is trashed (keep in mind that this will mean that you'll have to reconstruct things like widget layout and so forth). Hopefully, you know or can figure out how to find hidden files, but if not I can try to give you some pointers. Hope that helps |
