Arbitration...

Is there any way to see what a player is asking for other than to offer an extension?

If you go to the salary report (a main tab on the financials screen that shows all your contract obligations for now and the future) you'll see what the game figures his arbitration value may be worth.

I haven't looked at it in X, but in earlier versions they would ask for silly contracts for an extension (like a first year arb player that won't be awarded anything more than 3-4 million is asking for 10 mil a year for 2 years). If it's still like it was, your best gauge is that salary report... but someone else may actually know.

It's what you learn after you know it all that counts.

After year 1 of my sim, a number of the players who were arbitration eligible received far more than they were projected on the salary report. It's obviously a small sample, but I was surprised just how high many of these contracts were for. Cleaned out my payroll so that I cannot sign other players.

It would be great if, on the new arbitration screen where you enter your offer, you could see what the player was asking for.
