Ive noticed that several times in PLAY BY PLAY in game...there is a glitch that happens when I am pitching. I am calling my own game.
Ex: I am ahead in the count 0-2. Now I press pitch around batter to throw him one pitch out of the strike zone to get him to chase it. All of a sudden I walk him. And only one pitch has gone by. How does that happen? This has happened several times in game when I pitch. It was be 1-0. THen the next pitch it says 3-2 Strike three and the guy is out. I am ahead 0-1 and the next pitch is BALL FOUR he walks. Am i missing something? Is anyone else having this problem? Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks |

Just a thought, but are you accidentally hitting the space bar at some point (which would result in simming the current at-bat)?

Just to let you know: a batter is rarely going to chase a pitch thrown as a "pitch around." He'll either let it go by, or make non-solid contact with it. A pitch-around is not intended to strike someone out, it's intended to prevent an extra-base hit.

I'm fairly certain that's what it means in the game.

Also, if you want to pitch around, but don't want the count to all of a sudden be 3-2 you can switch to pitch-by-pitch mode, then switch back to one-pitch mode after the AB. Oddly enough, in a game last night, the other team's #3 hitter came up twice with a runner on 2nd, so I pitched around both times and got him to pop up both times. I think both ABs went to 3 ball counts. |

Well I am not pressing the space bar...and I do have pitch by pitch set up. The question I had was not so much what pitch around does. It more had to do with asking if anyone else had the problem of simming one pitch in the at bat and all of a sudden the count changing drastically? Bc that has happened to me on several occasions

If I'm not mistaken, and I could be, but I'm pretty sure choosing the "Pitch Around" option is for the entire AB and not just one pitch. So selecting pitch around is basically telling the game to go ahead and pitch around this guy for his AB.
