Incredibly accurate contract status of the 2009 mlb roster

WOW, seriously, great job on this.

This is pretty much the issue which caused me to not play the most recent year in ottp8 and ootp9, where for example mike hampton was on 400k with the braves, and the contracts were almost entirely random

Now, i love the fact that my braves team all have accurate contracts! I even tried to trade for mcclouth, and his contract was accurate almost exactly to what he is due in real life.

This is so amazing, and now i can play this game and feel like i am frank wren himself. The contracts is so easy to do, and it makes such a huge difference to the enjoyment of the game.

Thank you for the best game ever.

p.s. 1 question, can i do a fantasy style draft with the players on their current mlb contracts? Where for example, barry zito would never be drafted due to his huge contract and lack of performance? I did a fantasy draft, but the contracts seemed pretty standard, and not accurate to real life

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe after a draft all the players get fictional contracts.

I have been pretty happy with the roster too. The only thing I noticed was that some of the defensive ratings for minor league prospects weren't right. It's not a deal breaker, that is pretty a minute detail.

I did notice though that none of the contracts that should have option years did have them. That's important when your team of choice is loaded down with underperformers with an option year!

The only contract error I've really noticed (without specifically looking) is for Gary Sheffield.

He's still listed with his $14M Tigers salary, not the 400k minimum the Mets gave him. Quite the enormous difference.
