Fantastic Single Game Achievements-OOTPX

Since last year we had a lot of fun here going back and forth with all of our awesome single game achievements,I thought it would be fun to start one with OOTP X.My first one came today, when the Phils Joe Blanton went the distance allowing 6 hits and striking out 14 while walking only one in the Phillies 12-0 victory over the Marlins. What made it extra sweet, was the fact that Blanton with one out in the 9th had thrown 116 pitches and was tired but I kept him in and he struck out both Dan Uggla and then Cody Ross to end the game.

Bummer, wish i'd have known about this previously...

In my last season i had Nick Blackburn pitch a perfect game, strange really when you consider that my indians lost 101 games in the season and Blackburn finished the year 5-17.

That sucks,it would have been cool to have that up here, perfect games are very, very rare. You may never get one again. As for me,I've had one no hitter,in over 1000 games played out,and it was thrown by Wayne Twitchell of all people in my 1972 replay.Ironically,"Twitch" went down with a CEI just a month or so later.

In my Rookie A ball that I am currently managing in, my team ran into this guy...

He was throwin 97-99 at my 18 and 19 year old kids who just couldn't do anything with it...

I had the great Buck Barnett strikeout 16 batters in 8 innings while walking none. (He's pictured to the left as my avatar.) That means he struckout 2 batters in every inning over 8 innings! Amazing!

Last night, I was finishing up my first full season with OOTP X and I was eliminated from the playoffs with 5 games left in the season. Since it was getting late, I decided to sim the last 5 games and get on to the offseason to make some trades.

My #3 starter came up with a simmed no-hitter in the next to last game of the season.

My third baseman and my CF hit 3 HR each in the same game on 6-20 in my first season in my fictional league. Even more amazing since I have the HR modifier at .867. Also, five of the six were solo shots. I hit six HR and only scored 8 runs lol. I would post the history reports, but I don't know how...

I have a league with both historical and fictional players that started in 1870. Home run totals had been low even for that era which makes what Willie Keeler did on May 13th, 1903, all the more remarkable.

You'll notice that in the clipping from the box score, he hit 3 home runs. Nothing unusual for our time period, but no one had ever hit 3 HRs in a single game in the entire 34 years history of the league. Buck Freeman, the career HR leader, averaged only 5.6 HRs per season up to this point. Furthermore, Keeler hit only 19 HRs in his 13 years up to this point, including only 4 HRs total in this particular season.

I wonder if anyone has ever had more than 4? (In OOTP, I know they haven't in real life, or at least not in any league that keeps records)

Nothing extraordinary so far in OOTP X for me.

I just bought OOTPX about 2 weeks ago, and am about 70 games into my 1st season managing the Brewers...I am at work, so I don't have any "screenies", but here is a few that I remember off the top of my head:

1) Early May, Tim Lincecum threw a one-hitter vs. the Colorado Rockies...allowed 1 hit, struck out 16.

2) First game of season, Jayson Werth hit for the cycle vs. Atlanta. No one has hit for the cycle since.

3) My #1 pitcher on the Brewers, Dave Bush, has an 11-0 record, and a ~2.2 ERA.

4) Dan Uggla (Fla) hit 4 HR's in one game when playing @ Colorado.

I have not done anything to the rosters, this is right out of the box!

once I had Derek Jeter hit for the cycle twice in one month, and in OOTP 6.5 a fictional player hit for the cycle 3 times in 2 weeks, no joke, and hit for it 4 times in his hall of fame career

That's awesome! Apparently (if you trust Wikipedia), this is much more common that it used to be:

No independent verification of the data in Wikipedia, but per that source, its happened 3 times in the minor leagues, and once in an exhibition game.

There was a source for one 5K inning --
Rockford RiverHawks

I'm pretty sure I was at that game ...
I saw a 7-inning doubleheader A-ball perfect game in Delaware a few years ago ... just like you described: Throwing serious heat past totally overmatched kids. Only took about an hour and 15 minutes, so more time after for a BBQ.

Ok, I'll amend my question, has anyone ever seen 6 K's on an inning in OOTP ?

Funny, I am just in my second year after creating a new league based on 2009 MLB (I ran 20 year's sim and have college/HS feeders with full minors) and in the Achievements section I saw 2(!) perfect games were pitched in the first season. Not by my team, though. I did trade for one of the SPs that did the next year, though.

Oh, I know it's more common that you'd think in MLB, but my fictional universe has a strikeout modifier of 0.900, meaning it's even tougher to do
