I am pretty happy about the way it is now...does anyone have any complaints or suggestions about the file?

I think it great,I really do.The only thing that puzzles me is the news, and why it describes the injuries with just a number sometimes.I've tried and tried to figure out why it does it when it does, but it just seems random.Have you been able to figure out why it does it? I know fixing it it as simple as editing the news article, but it would be nice not to have to do that.

I see that you are using this file Phillie for your dynasty. What are your settings and is it truly "finished" to be used.

The game needs IMHO something to make the AI "swap" starters more. Perhaps more 1-2 stars missed thanks to minor injuries.

My test dynasty runs into problem having too many teams with very few starters used over a season. Sometime as low as 6-7 starters for a team during the whole of the season. Many teams have 3-4 starters with almost 30 starts or more, with plus 200 innings being more common.

I´m not sure short injuries are the key, but something beside stamina must be made to have more starters tried in the majors for the AI teams.

It's fairly well established that the game engine as it stands has far toom nay injuries to hitters and too few to pitchers. Unfortunately, nothing can be done to the file to fix that particular problem, as it does not differentiate between them.

I hope nobody objects to me bumping this excellent thread, and I'm wondering what sorts of results people have gotten using the two different injury files on the same setting, over the course of a season or three or five. Also, Matter any updates since June 21st or is that the "finished" product?

Re: the argument back and forth, I think it's healthy, provided it doesn't get personal, and probably helps the game improve in the area of injuries. Both sides have obviously put in a ton of research and both are to be commended for their efforts.

Personally I think I'll stick with my personal edit which switched all the CEI Bools from 1s to 0s, unless someone can show me data that indicates that Matter's is clearly superior (in the eye of the beholder and all that stuff) over the other. I play historicals only, so there aren't as many players as a fictional would have and I retire according to history. My issue with CEIs has always been that Lou Gehrig (insert other players and seasons) played from 1923 through 1939 and I don't want to see him retire before 1939. If there's a 500 day injury to a player fine, so be it, but I don't like seeing players retire "before their time". Were I playing in 2009 or now 2010 and beyond, I'd probably switch to the original injury file, because I can't see into the future, but I know what happened in the past and I want to have the players around for as long as they were around.

I tried to figure this out but there wasn't anything from the data that I could correlate. I agree it is extremely annoying and I just went back to the injury files that came with 10.4.36. At least no one in my online league is complaining about a player "out for 8 months with 2" anymore.

Matter for what it's worth you have done a great job with this injury mod. I have been using it and except foe those text errors in the stories I am very happy with it. I had a post a while back about CEI's as I had in my league Jose Reyes and Torri Hunter both have a CEI due to post concussion syndrome right after the game (unrealistic).
nobody can ever model real life, real life changes everyday. You can only model history. At one time a torn lig. in your pitching arm was a CEI now with Tommy John surg. your back in a year.
Keep up the good work, people have 2 choices use it or not.

Weird thing...I stopped having any injuries in my league after the latest patch. Anyone else run into this? I noticed that after the patch the default injury file was in place, so I replaced it with this one, reimported the database, and then simmed. for about 2 months I had no injuries. replaced it with the orig injury file, and the very next sim I had multiple injuries throughout the league. weird.

Please see this thread:

Partial fix for my "more realistic injury file" DB Import and NEW file...

for a partial fix to the "Braun will be out for 2-3 weeks after suffering 3" issue that many people are having. I re-edited the file to help with the problem as about 70-80% of the injuries now show up properly, but what I had to do was so dumb it actually hurt my head to think of it...
