Rain Delays

So in a rain delay, if its long enough, does the starting pitcher not return to the game? Cuz I had some ace going against me, we went into a rain delay, and I was hoping he would get pulled out in like the 4th inning, but it was only 41 minutes long. If theres like a 3 hour delay, does the starting pitcher go buhbye?

I think the correct answer to your question is that SP would always return, but might only pitch to one batter, if the rain delay was long enough. I've never seen a really outrageously long rain delay in OOTP, so I can't be sure what a worst case scenario might be in fact.

I just had a game where I was playing and there was a 63 minute rain delay. The opponent pulled his starter after the delay, which was in between innings, and the starter had only gone 3 innings. I kept my pitcher in but he exhausted quickly and I couldn't get him to 5 innings for the eventual win.

Is anyone else still having the problem where rain delays occur but they are not shown in the PBP? It's rather bothersome to find out later on that your SP was totally exhausted because there was a rain delay you didn't know happened. I've had to turn to checking the box score after every AB while it's raining to know if a delay has occurred.

If you play with pause on, and one-pitch, you will see rain delay count itself off in 5-minute increments (I believe). Other than that, you won't see anything about rain delays in the PbP. It's a known issue, and I suspect it will get fixed at some point. In the meantime, you might consider playing one-pitch when the weather is suspect.

OOTP needs the Duckworth-Lewis Method.

Yes, it still exists in OOTPX, unfortunately.

And I've had a 97 minute delay in OOTP9.
