Real roster game start date

Every new game I start has a start date of 04/04/09. I'm used to games staring way before Spring training. Is there anyway to change game start dates? Thks

If you start a game using the Lahman or some custom database, the game will usually (always?)start on January 1st of the year you choose. Games played with rosters, rather than databases, usually (always?) have hard-coded start dates. The roster that comes with the game is the Opening Day 2009 roster, so the game starts on Opening Day 2009.

The roster set was deliberately set to start on April 4th. The goal was to mirror Opening Day as best as possible. There is little around that.

How about if I'm starting a New Fictional Universe from a saved template. Game keeps starting on 5/16 (The day the draft pool list becomes available)? Is this start date saved in the template? Can it be changed? It is in the middle of my feeder leagues season.
