Talk about your best fictional player!
We usually have this thread for every version of OOTP - talk about your best player, real or fictional, in your baseball universe.
For me, I think I've finally found somebody to replace Juan Maclin from OOTP6 - over a five year stretch following trading for the then-AAA prospect, Maclin went 92-18 over a five year stretch, winning three Cy Young Awards. But in my latest universe, the game gods deigned to bring to the Mets a young left fielder named Manny "Stone" Castillo. I just finished the second month of the season, in which he hit .467 with 14 doubles, 4 triples, 11 homers, 30 rbi's, 34 runs scored, and 7 stolen bases. He currently stands second in batting average (.385), third in homers (16), first in RBI (53), and leading the MVP race. Oh, did I mention those are also his career totals, because he's a 20-year old rookie? I'll put up some ratings when I get home from work. How about everyone else? Who are the studs from your universes? |

In a fictional Russian/Cuban league based on ML 2009 stats, I had a pitcher named Vladislav Bakhovtsev who in 15 seasons went 360-155 with a 3.25 ERA, 121 CG, 31 shutouts, 4581 K's in 4696 IP. This was using a 4-man rotation.
He won six pitching triple crowns.

What is the best way to set up a fictional league? quick start on ABA? or go with majors and then reset the names? does the program do a good job of creating and naming players? How about pictures?

Created a league back in OOTP 6 and have "resurrected" it in OOTP 10 from a hosed league file after a power hit during saving (no backup of course). The best player in the Red River Valley league (collection of small ND and MN towns) played for my hometown Thompson Tommies and his name was Dwayne "The Prowler" Kittrell. A summary of his numbers: .316 career average, 716 HR's, 1924 RBI's, 12 time All Star and a 7 time MVP winner. His career numbers are below:

catcher Damien Walec (alright, he's named after me, so obviously he's gonna be beast), definitely one of the top 10 best players in the leagues history (which is 102 years). he won 7 gold gloves, 9 MVPs, and was drafted 1st overall in his first year player draft.

These are some ridiculous numbers. I recently started a default league with 09 rosters. I'm in year 2019 I believe. Almost 95% of my players hit there prime at 25 and turn into garbage by the time they are 28. I don't understand....
