Backups

So I thought my laptop had crashed on me. Luckily it hadn't but I'm paranoid of losing the sim I'm ten years of PBP into.

Can someone tell me what exactly I need to back up to ensure I've got my sim saved? I run the backup utility but can't tell what files it creates are the ones I need. I tried burning a backup to disk a while ago but it tried to copy everything in the folder, including uniforms logos etc. Got way too huge

So I'm basically wondering what are the crucial files I absolutely need to backup on an external source in order to restore my sim in the laptop ever crashes.

the back up seems to save everything upto that date, basically it should be ever thing from rules, templates rosters, stats. When you restore it makes a whole new game in which it creates every file needed for a new game that mirrors the other...(hope this makes sence

all but in rare occasion will a crash do anything bad to your game files, but I had it once in ootp9 where the save was just corrupted. in that case you just load the back up and it will take you to a new game at where you were when you backed up

I usually just copy the entire .lg folder to an external source once or twice a season. It's a little redundant because you are recopying the pictures, et al. everytime, but at least I know I have a secure setup.

You could use Microsoft free SyncToy to help maintain backups with relative ease. Just give it a source and a destination, and then it'll only copy changed files on subsequent runs.

Or just be a command-line guy and use robocopy.

I zip up a copy of the league, add the date to the league name (e.g., Texas061609.zip) for a title and copy it to a thumbdrive.
