Talking Finally one of my pitcher had done it

After playing with 3 different versions (2007, OOTP 9 and OOTP X) it had finally happen today...

My first No-hitter game
Far from a perfect one and stressful untill the last batter out

Congrats. I've been playing OOTP since OOTP6 and I've still yet to have one.

I've never seen a no hitter. I had a guy get to 8.1 then lose it to a line drive single over the 2B's head.

I had another guy pitch a 2 hit shutout and go 3-3 with the bat in the same game.

haha. I've got that beat actually. 8.2 innings broken up by a bloop single to right. I was just a little bit angry.

Ive been playing since 6.12 and I also finally had my first no hitter with X. I play out all my games so sample size isnt too large.

I've carried a perfect game into the 8th, no hitter into the 9th (seperate instances), but never finished one out.

There was a guy in my old OOTP9 league that pitched a no-hitter in his first ML start.

once, i had a pitcher have a no-no through 8.2 innings, then he gave up a single (there were 2 guys on base via walks) and a grand slam so we lost 4-3

That's harsh. Wasn't Scott Baker pitching was it?

lol. Ok. Was just wondering. remembering a week or so back when Baker had a shut out going with the score at 10-0 and then in the 9th the A's game back and tagged him and Jesse Crain for 5 runs...... then they loaded the bases and Nathan actually got save out of it. That one half inning ruined what had been a great game for the previous 8 1/2... well not for the A's I guess.

Certainly not an impressive pitcher
and not really an important player on my team. I've brought him in the starting rotation (he was a reliever before this game), because the initial fourth pitcher was really bad. Maybe that will give some confidence to him and the team, since our start isn't that great...

In OOTP9 I have had 7 no-hitters in three seasons.

I had none the first year, 6 in the second and 1 in the third.

In the first year I played the last three innings of every league game.
I simmed the second year and the the third year.

I had Dave Stieb pitch one in OOTP4 and I had Tom Candiotti pitch one in APBA for Windows. Lots of fun.

With modern day settings or is this historical? I rarely see no hitters as I sim out seasons. Just wondering.

I think that this makes the feat even more impressive given how much the ball was in play. Congrats!

Nothing sweeter than the feeling of pitching a virtual no-no.

Except maybe pitching an ACTUAL no-no
