Rain Outs?

Is it possible to change two teams' schedule to provide for a rain out? Can you delete the rained-out game and re-schedule the make-up game? If so, how can I do it?

Thanks for your help,

Cajun Hurler

You can "pretend" a game gets rained out.

You can cancel a game in the Schedule Editor and then reschedule it at a later date, even making it part of a doubleheader.

Let me know if you need help in editing the schedule.

Do you live in Looziana?

Thanks for the quick reply. I was able to use the schedule editor to schedule the make-up game as part of a doubleheader. And I think I deleted the "rain out", but it still shows up on the schedule. If I autoplay that day, is the game going to be played or should it have disappeard from the schedule?

Yes, I live in Lousyanna.

Just keep in mind that once you make changes via the schedule editor, those changes will be present next season when the schedule gets reused. (While OOTP flips around the teams within those matchups to generate a different set of matchups, the underlying slate of games is unchanged. If you edit the schedule to provide for a doubleheader on a Monday, there'll be a doubleheader on that Monday the next season, it'll just involve different teams.)

Thanks for the reminder, LGO.

I need to remember this as I do change my schedule for the playoffs each year.

Bit of a hijack; apologies. Is there any drawback to generating a new schedule at either yearly or bi-yearly intervals? Does the game draw a different one with a different click or simply use the only one that matches your league format, so in effect accomplishing nothing at all?

Pretty sure the playoff schedule doesn't change. I edit mine very year and then it's back to normal setup the next season.

None that I am aware of.

It depends on whether your league format and schedule options match any of the existing schedule files in the Schedules folder. What OOTP does is first look for an existing schedule file which matches the league and schedule parameters. If it finds one in the Schedules folder, it'll use it. If it can't find one, then it generates a schedule from scratch.

Yes, the post-season schedules are generated from scratch each season.
