Not quite tech support, so...

...I'll post it here.

I have a fictional league going, with this being the tenth year I'm in. Ive been using 1945 settings. The averages for HRs and Ks have been around 20 and 200 respectively.

Well, this year we're two months into the season, the home run leader has five when he hit 76 last year and the strikeouts leader has 2 where he has 256 last year.

What caused this? I changed no settings.

That's only 2 players. Maybe they took bad hits to their ratings or were injured or are just having off years.

How are things on average?

The thing that strikes me as odd is 76 homers using 1945 settings? Yikes!

Well, the guy who hit 76 has an 80/80 on power, so it's not impossible for those 76 homers.

And those two, the guy with five HRs and the guy with 2 Ks are the current leaders as well. As in, the highest totals two months in are 5 and 2.

EDIT: In addition, none of my starters has a single strikeout this year.

Hmm, well even for 2 months that no starters without a strikeout sounds strange, unless the entire pitching rotation is on the DL. I hope you backup after every season so you can re-sim it if you want. Either way, tell us how things end up at the end of the season. It might end up being a league one of the devs would like to take a look at.

Gah, I haven't backed up in a while.

I'm going to tool around with he league, see if the CPU changed any settings.

Yeah, I think I'll back it up separately, sim the season, and see if the numbers equalize first.

UPDATE: I fooled with some settings, and, well, the results were interesting. For a week, there were games with scores in the hundreds.

So I fixed that, and tried reassigning my settings to 1942. So far, it seems like that's corrected the home run and ERA issues, as both are close to the league averages of years past. But the strikeouts are still hideously low.\

Anybody have any other suggestions?

((The HRs are still low, but I figure that I can live with that. Still, I had a guy have three straight 50+ HR seasons then drop to 23 with no rating drops or injuries. These setting changes are screwy.))

Yes, hilarious.

Also, as another annoyance, my team which has no player with contracts over 400,000$ is now 14,000,000$ in the hole. Somehow.

I'm starting to think I may need to scrap this league. After all the work I put in, too.

UPDATE 2: I fooled around some more. I've given up on saving the financials, they're screwy (20/80 guys making 2000$ where 80/80 guys make 845$), but I've been forced to check the box in strategy that forces the game engine to match the settings, which is recommended for minors.

Here's the problem: with the box unchecked, pitchers average 15-25 BBs a game and 0.5 Ks.

The settings don't account for this. HELP!?

Alright, I will.

Can I just link it to this thread when I post in Tech Support?

You should link, but you should also describe the problem in your Tech Support OP. Links are for added depth, not initial descriptions.
