I'm guessing you're using Vista. In that case you need to copy the shortcut, then right-click it, select properties and in the target field add " -unlicense" (exclude the quotes, but include the space) after the location that is already in there. Annoying, I know.

EDIT: I forgot, there's also an already made unlicense shortcut in the ootp/tools menu in the start button menu now.

Darn it! I shouldn't have done this update. Now I can't open my saved game because it says, "OOTP cannot load this database because the file world.dat is missing." It's in the saved game folder. After I close that window the next window says, "the database has failed. It is either corrupt or the save-game from an old version." Can I get the original version back so I can load my saved game?

jabrown, you need to install the patch using the same setting that you used when installing the full setup. Just install again, this time with the same settings. If you installed the full setup to "Default folders", do that again now.

I made no changes while installing the first time and made no changes when re-installing. I'll try re-installing again after today's interruption of life (work) is over. It was odd that I had to re-enter the license number. I never had to do that on 9. 9 was on Windows though and "X" is on a Mac. Windows is so much easier to use compared to a Mac.

I'm glad that it works, but how did you lose the saved games? Did you manually delete them or do you just not find them anymore? If that's the case, please search your computer for the file world.dat and you should find the saved games folder(s). Then you can copy the league folders from there to your new saved games folder.

I had so many files in the trash I didn't know what was what and there's no restore option available. I dragged the OOTP folder out of the trash to the application folder then moved the installer for the update there and it worked. I couldn't get the saved games to load so I just deleted them and started over. It just wasn't worth the fight. I used Windows for so long and it just knows where to put the files. With a Mac everything has to be done manually so it's difficult for me. Why in the world it can't figure out that an application goes into the app folder, I'll never know.

Oh, it is! For example my Mac G5 has a handle, this way I could throw it out of the window much better than the Linux computers

Crashing

I haven't looked very hard for crash issues with this patch, but it would seem that I am getting crashes in the off-season of a standard MLB 2009 league after year one.

Very frustrating.

I just purchase OOTPX today. Do I need to download patch 1 and 2? If I do, what's the easiest method or link to use. I have a PC.

Hey! If you purchase it today, you will also download it today, right? In that case the version will be up-to-date.
There's a "check for update" button in the Game menu as well.
