Dominican players

Any suggestions on the best way to get 16 year old Dominican players into the game at the july 2nd signing date each season? is there a feeder league that will do this? Do i have to create the players myself?

Any help would be appreciated.

Josh

For my league, I have created an "MLB Academy League", which is a stand alone league (no financials), of 10 teams split by nationality of Latin American countries that tend to generate good major leaguers. I have the age from 14-17, so once they "age out", they hit the free agency list and can be bid on. I have a draft of 14 year olds every year to repopulate the league. They play a 100 game season, ending in August, so they can be properly evaluated. I am still in the testing stages with this, but I am hoping it keeps the nationalities realistically balanced. I am already seeing some possible future stars in the first year though, and many happen to be Dominican.

Hmm, I reduced the player creation ages to 14 min and max. Like I said, I am playing through and haven't gotten there yet, but am expecting it to create only 14 year olds, as it works in feeder leagues (I only create 15 year olds for that).

Hey,

This is exactally what I would be looking to do in my league. What nations did you chose to put Academies in? What do you use for League totals?

I just chose 10 teams, with 1 league, 2 divisions.
Island Division
Dominican Republic
Cuba (I like to pretend there is no issue getting these guys to the majors )
Puerto Rico
Bahamas
Virgin Islands (this was a "throw in", as the baseball quality according to the game here is poor)

Continental:
Mexico
Panama
Venezuala
Costa Rica
Honduras

I set this up as a high school league, and used the default totals given by that setup (I suck at setting up totals, but the development seems fine, so I am happy with it). Teams play 100 game season, starting May 1st. All Star game scheduled (which I plan on checking out). I have already shortlisted some of the players that are rated highly. Hopefully some of these guys will end up in my rookie leagues next year

Do you set Foreigners to 0%? I would assume then each team will only have players from each country?

Correct. Foreigners 0%, and nationality by team nationality.
