Help launching program
Any help would be greatly appreciated here. For whatever reason, the game just won't launch on my laptop. Seems like it shouldn't be a huge problem but at this point, the game is useless to me.

What version of windows are you using?
I just read your earlier post stating that you are using windows XP, so please ignore my post. Have you downloaded the latest version of OOTP 10 (10.2.15) and installed it? Last edited by ootp3to6; 06-22-2009 at 07:35 AM. |

Windows XP. I ran OOTP8 and OOTP9 on the same laptop with no problems. And I tested OOTP9 on there again yesterday and it runs fine.
Someone suggested checking the "logs" but I don't know how to do that. |

From there, the logs are under Computer Management (Local) -> System Tools -> Event Viewer. Any logs generated by OOTP will probably be under "Application", but they may be under "System", as well. They'll be sorted by time (most recent first), so look for any entries around the time OOTP failed to launch. In particular, you'll want to look for entries that say "Warning" or "Error". |

I was able to copy the log messages...
LoadPerf Error None 3009 N/A TOMSDELL Installing the performance counter strings for service WmiApRpl (%2) failed. The Error code is the first DWORD in Data section. LoadPerf Error None 3013 N/A TOMSDELL Unable to update the performance counter strings of the 009 language ID. The Win32 status returned by the call is the first DWORD in Data section. Those seem to be the ones related to the attempted launch of OOTP. Do they make sense to anyone??? |
