Budgets/Free Agents

During the first two offseasons of my current league, I've had no money avaliable to sign free agents. However, any offer I make to a free agent is approved by the owner and I'm able to sign about anyone that I want.

Is the owner letting me go over budget because he thinks we're close to winning it all and if I don't, he'll fire me? Otherwise, what's the point of having a budget at all? I've never had this happen before in any of my leagues.

Double check to see if you're in Commissioner mode. If you are, then the budget doesn't apply.....you're the Commissioner, you can do what you want!!!!

Really? I thought that was just for editing players, forcing trades, etc. Learn something new every day!
