If I get the game..

Hey guys. I'm strongly considering buying the game. I do have a quick question with it though. If I go to the webstore and buy the game, does it come with all the patches that have been added so far already programmed in, or do I have to do that all myself? Thanks!

Edit: Also, can I create a fictional league of mostly players that I create profiles and attributes for?

The game you buy will have the current patches included. There may be additional patches after you buy it though.

Yes, you can make entire fictional leagues full of players you create. In fact, I would say this is one of the better uses of the game and where OOTP really stands out from the competition.

Hope you take the plunge and join the OOTP community.

yes once you make your league go into comissioner mode then when you select any player you get and option editor where you can change name, ratings personality, nationalaity, birth place. they have anything you could think of to change and more

If I were to say, recreate the entire MLB with fictional players (obviously a lot of players that I need to add/edit) will that cause problems like slowing the game down and stuff?

No, a fictional player is processed just as quickly as a "pre-made" major leaguer in all game functions.

Nope, no problems. Obviously, if you have a bigger league, it will take longer to load and longer to sim all of the minor leagues behind the scenes than a small league. But the game can handle a MLB size league with full minors and college/high school feeder leagues with no problem.

The game will even create the fictional players for you if you would like (much quicker than doing it yourself). No muss, no fuss. Out of the Park is a fictional players dream.

I can sim full MLB with all 17 minor leagues at a rate of one season every 45 minutes.
