Spring Training is Handled Incorrectly

When I sim spring training, the teams owned by the computer play games like spring training games (i.e. lots of substitutions) but my manager doesn't; he plays each spring training game just like it's a normal game

is there a way to fix this?

if you quick-play the game then the AI will make lots of subs but if you are playing the games out it doesn't seem to want to sub. I usually don't play Spring training games out anyway.

I play out all of my ST games, and the manager subs players correctly. (Not doubting you, just trying to muddy the waters by saying something else might be messing this up.)

I quick play and my manager doesn't make the subs! I wonder what could be causing this.

Would that really work?

On the plus side of things, I think I have a real stud playing rightfield for me at age 19.

But of course, one of my best pitchers has had season ending surgery in April.
