This is consistent with OOTP wanting to sell the game at $40 and Strategy First wanting to discount all their games 50% off for a two week period.

Well, a list price of 79.99 (USD?) for any reason is not a good way to attract customers.

Assuming Raidergoo is right, it could get even screwier when the two week sales period expires and the regular price of the game gets cut in half so that it's the same as it is now during the sale.

Now it's 59.99 with a 30.00 credit to 29.99("coincidence" or not). Looks like any promotions they run will match OOTP Pricing.

We provided them with the necessary patch installers about a week ago, now it's up to them when they post them on their site. I expect this to be the case any day now...

Couldn't you also host the patch since it is still your game simply being distributed through Strategy First? I'd like to actually start playing your game rather than just dabbling a bit waiting for the patch. Some of the fixes in the first two patches seem neccessary to me.

I don't know, but I got the impression that maybe SF had to add their own license code or something to the patches, something OOTP can't do.

Yep I wish I had not ordered from them too, I'm not blaming OOTP for this, but I would think that it would probably not be a good idea to do business with Strategy First again. Hopefully the patch will be up soon.

What's the refund policy for Strategy First? Can you guys get your money back, maybe on the basis that they aren't supporting the game properly?

We're pretty much stuck. Hopefully they get it out soon since its annoying to play with bugs you know have been patched.

That's pretty lousy. And the same thing might happen when the next patch comes out. Wonder if anyone from OOTP can get onto Strategy First and suggest they get the lead out and post the patch already? Not good for anyone's customer relations when stuff like this happens, no matter who's at fault.
