Unfortunately I have the same thing happen and I keep having to reject the trade. The AI will eventually stop offering the player.
If the player is semi-useful and affordable, I often will try to swing the trade in my favor if they keep asking enough. For example, I try to get them to take an overpaid player of mine or I try to get them to throw in a prospect. But usually I have to just keep rejecting the trade. Usually they just want to get rid of the player more than actually acquire the players they want from me. |

You know, I had this happen myself. I couldn't sim more than one day over a MONTH without another trade offer.
I eventually ended up Commishing and releasing that guy as punishment for the AI being dumb. Don't worry, he was only a 25/80 overall and a 36 year old platoon player with a minimal salary. |

i'm not interested in stopping ALL offers, but once I reject a trade for their 1 star shortstop 7 or 8 times, you'd think I could just say "I don't want that bum"
And god forbid you have 2 good players at the same position, the AI tries to offer 1 star guys for your 4 or 5 star guys |

i've noticed the AI doing this when you have two strong players at one position, even when one of them starts somewhere else... in my case, I have two great 1B's but I play one at third since he has great defensive ratings there ... but i've gotten 9 or 10 offers for this guy because he's not the starter at 1B. Finally, I put him as untouchable because, well, he is ...
should i manually adjust the second player and make him a 3B? I worry about that making him angry and his performance tanking |

Yeah, but in real life if I were the other GM, I could give the patented Hank Hill "I'm gonna kick your @$$" response.

Serious suggestion: Has anybody in this position offered just a small amount of cash or a really low draft pick just to get the guy off your back? You can then release the player to where he belongs. |
