Are you saying that you start to play a specific game with only 8 players? What screen are you looking at when you get a freeze? It's a little unclear from your explanation. We may need to look at it step by step. |

That is pretty hard to explain, especially as you say this happened to you in OOTP9. Do you use the 7-day lineup feature? I don't have a setup right now where I can easily test your problem. I find it hard to believe this could be a bug in OOTP, because other people would have run into it by now. Have you tried any radical steps, like trashing all your OOTP files, and doing a completely fresh installation? There are some hidden files, so you have to sure those got replaced as well. Keep a copy of your saved game around, of course. The other thing you can do is post about this in Technical and see if anyone has an idea to offer.
Sorry I can't be more help. |

I forgot to mention that I did a test of sorts on a DH league, in which I removed a player from the lineup, started a game, then went to substitutions to fill the empty slot. No problems on my Mac.
Everything you are reporting suggests that there is damage to your OOTP application and/or other OOTP files on your computer. There is an uninstall utility that comes with the game. It is in your OOTP folder. I'm not sure it works as well as I would like, but it may work enough for you, since you are concerned about your computer skills. Save a copy of your Saved Game in some other location. Go to Game Preferences. At the bottom of that window, there is a button for de-licensing your game. De-license. Uninstall the game. Download the game again. Install it. License it. Put your Saved Game copy in the Saved Game Folder. See if things are working OK now. That's my best idea.
