Many end-of-season firings ?

Has anybody noticed the high amount of managers and GMs being fired upon the conclusion of a season ?

I had that happen with managers, it seems that the AI has an itchy trigger finger when it comes to managers!

I was running a sim league and there was this one team that had won the championship five times in a row. After the fifth championship they finished in third place missing the playoffs for the first time in seven years. What is the first thing that the AI does? He fires the manager despite the fact that he was the best manager in the game!

I think it is intentionally built into the game that way. The team strategy slider settings are, generally speaking, the same as the manager's preferences (also the GM to some extent). However, those preferences may not match well with the capabilities of the team. So if the team is doing at all badly, it makes sense to fire the manager and hire a new one, who will presumably have different strategy preferences. It's a trial-and-error process that would only work if there was a lot churn in the manager ranks.

That explains why I have seen a dramatic drop in firings the past few seasons. Most teams have managers that fit the team setup.
