Pitcher's Ratings Drop Dramatically

I went out before the new season (in the off season before spring) I picked up a four star starting pitcher. Spring hits and he's 1 star and the ripping on him saying he's not even major league material. I don't get it, I checked his history and everything but nothing. He just just magically dropped.

turn off scouting, maybe this will help
